In 2020 during the first Corona lockdown Raphael Albrecht created a series Orbit 360 that has since achieved cult status. As an alternative to the events that were cancelled due to the pandemic, routes were scouted that you could ride alone with a rating. In the first version, there were 16 challenging orbits (one per federal state). In 2021 the concept was expanded and great new routes were added. The Orbit 360 Gravity Festival has the potential to become a summer classic: music, good food and cycling enthusiasts. Also great is the Ride For A Reason series. Collecting donations for a good cause and covering many kilometres. What could be better?
The Orbiter is made for the Orbit around Berlin (220km, 1200hm). Enough suspension travel to master the rough passages but light and fast enough for the long distance through Brandenburg sand and Berlin rumble paths.
Müggelberge, Ahrensfelder Berge, Grunewald. Even if not the Alps, you are simply faster with a marathon full suspension bike like the ORBITER than with a gravel machine. And you will have more fun… the idea came up when I tried to master the route in August 2020 at 40º. After 175 km my ride was over because my body didn’t want to go any further. Of course, that was ‘only’ because of the material. ;-P
